Vintcase:iPad Case

Vintcase The iPad is a leather case made in Spain. It is quite impractical, looks like a prop from Lord of the Rings, and it takes a lighter wallet € 79 ($ 109). But despite all this, I can not help but like. Aesthetically, the case is almost the opposite of when it envelops iPad. Handmade in Ubrique, a city famous for its leather products, the Vintcase feels both exotic and old. It has a three-panel design. The iPad slides into his own pocket, just as it should be utilitarian in the Apple case, and there are cutouts for the home button, speaker, dock port, jack and buttons. Both the ring and back cover are made of thick, sturdy leather.

To close the case, you need a thick fold over a flap that covers and protects the screen. A third panel closes thinner than that of the other side, and the absurdly long “tail” wraps around a few times to close the case. You can also use the case to the bankruptcy of the IPAD and watching movies.

The double seal design is itself a good, providing protection at least as many more as padded cases, particularly at the corners, that’s where you need it. But the belt that snakes around it is an accident waiting to happen. It takes too long to unpack and settle, and when not tied shut it dangles, ready to catch a foot or hand and pulls the iPad to its demise.

Fortunately, the band easily removed: it is secured with a knot at one end, which stops the slip through a crack in the lid. You just pull it out the other way to take it out. As you can see from the photos, I added a few squares of adhesive Velcro to keep close cordless – ugly, certainly, but much more practical. You could still tie the strap around the case, even after removal. Alternatively you can tie it around your head so you look like a skinny, nerdy version of Conan the Barbarian, thus completing the fantasy movie makeover.

In the end it comes down to your taste. If you like the style of the Vintcase, you will not be disappointed with their quality. The leather is beautiful and it is clearly put together by someone who knows what he’s doing. The iPad is cozy, and well protected. The problem? You will see Frodo when you use it as well as HP Photosmart eStation.
