Clinique has come up with a new way to shop – and that is by integrating technology that is so prevalent in our lives these days. The world leader in beauty is the first cosmetics brand to use the Apple iPad in-store as part of a state-of-the-art, self-guided skin care diagnostic tool currently being rolled out later this month to select counters nationwide.

According to Lynne Greene, Global Brand President of Clinique, Origins and Ojon, “Clinique was built on the promise of providing our consumers with the most personal, exciting and interactive learning experience for every touchpoint. The integration of digital technologies in the Clinique shopping experience, we offer consumers a socially stimulating and modern way to connect with the brand. ”

You can now enjoy a guided self-service at the Apple iPad with exclusive software to select Clinique Clinique counters, so you can identify your skin care concerns and get personalized recommendations courtesy of a 90-second computer-directed skin care analysis. The diagnostic tool will go through a whopping 180,000 product combinations to meet your personal needs in the most precise manner possible like on Creative ZEN Touch 2 Player.

Once the intuitive analysis is done, you print or e-mail with a list of your customized product recommendations. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the final purchase decision, or not, but sure as heck beats operated by an inexperienced personnel to the Clinique counter to get the wrong recommendation. Then again, the human touch redundant with this new method of cosmetic shopping?I would say it really is all touch and go at the moment, the more cosmopolitan cities will likely see its customers not receiving the absence of a human presence, while those living in smaller towns still possible that the presence of a human face to the and prefer that personal touch.
