Style Pages for iPad
We were pretty excited when we welcomed fired up the app only by a message from founder Mike McCue told us all about an exciting new feature. Here’s what Mike had to say:
“As of today, eight renowned publishers begin testing a new, innovative way, the timeless beauty of the print media on the Web to bring … here, on the flip chart. Selected articles from these publishers are now being read by a button item. Tap it and It is a specially formatted version of its Web page that loads much faster and look absolutely great, “to see.
The new content is on your index page to add. There is footage from ABC News, All Things D, Bon Appetit, Lonely Planet, SB Nation, SF Gate, and the purchase of Washington Post Magazine. The flip side to this content look exactly the same, it is only when you read the article button that you get the new look like on ZVOX Mini Surround Sound System, click with different fonts and larger pictures.
It is a great little edition, and it only makes what is already a strong app even more. With the launch of Richard Branson’s Project iPad magazine, and people like Wired, The Times’ Eureka and other magazine publishers are on board the platform, as well as innovations such as flip chart, it’s an exciting time for the IPAD (and other tablets as well) in relation to the search for new ways to publish or to buy software.
