Sony’s first 3D receiver
3D is a real pain in the ass. First, all are from this new 3D fantasy equipment will cost you a lot. But it’s not just the price. Your receiver can not pass through 3-D signals, because they are not equipped with HDMI 1.4. Here are some more bad news. Only one of 4 new receivers from Sony supports 3D.
The 7.1-channel, 110W STR-DN1010 is Sony’s “affordable” 3D receiver. It costs $ 500, when it becomes available in June this year. It is the first 3D support to HDMI 1.4 pass-through technology to more than 4 HDMI connections.
Early adopters will want to check it out, but I’ll wait until they have a better solution.
