Shapeways 3D printing

3D printers come in price, but everything is relative – are you still at $ $ $ for the “cheap” versions. Or you can simply upload your design to Shapeways. With a few restrictions, pretty much everything you can in a 3D modeling package can be created (it still feels strange to say, “printed”) and directly to your doorstep.If you do not want to start from scratch and they have a number of template designs on the website that you can personalize with your own text, but for complete flexibility, you can design in the modeling packages like Google Sketchup.

You have the choice of materials and pricing is directly related to the type and quantity of the material needed to make your design (but not the complexity, it is the same amount of work to create a cube or just a complicated mechanism).
