Foxit announces the eSlick reader, can it challenge the Amazon Kindle or Sony Reader?

Foxit recently launched its eBook Reader which eSlick. Initially, they seem to have reached a fairly attractive price tag at $ 229, but the reader is lacking when it comes to format compatibility. As for the features that eSlick has a 6-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 600, 128 MB of internal memory and an SD card slot with support for up to 4 GB. The reader is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery that is said to up to 8000 page turns. In addition to measures 7.4 x 4.7 x 0.4 cm, weighing only 6.4 ounces and ships with a 2GB SD card and a set of headphones.

Well, as far as competitors in the market eBook Reader, the price is certainly nice, but as I mentioned earlier, the eSlick not offer a wide range of file compatibility. It only has support for PDF, TXT, and MP3 files. It comes with a conversion tool, but adds that only another step before you enjoy your reading. Not to mention, it does not have a book store of any kind Sony Reader has access to their eBook Store and the Kindle takes it a step further with wireless access built-in.

It is difficult to assess without a hand, but it seems that a beautiful design. I would be interested in some hands on time, but based on the format support, I would think that the version 2 you can wait for. It kind of seems like an expensive PDF viewer, in contrast to an eBook reader.
